The 2017 MJBL (Manitoba Junior Baseball League) season is approaching and head coach of the Interlake Junior Bluejays team, Adam Kirk expects both “fun and excitement” for families on: the Interlake Junior Bluejays, Stonewall Senior Bluejays and Stonewall Grand Slam teams this 2017 season.

To join any of these teams Kirk says that people can just contact him personally. Athletes are then assigned to a team, based on age and experience – and the inside scoop is that there are still some roster vacancies remaining before the Bluejays’ tentative tryout date arrives!
Though Kirk’s Bluejays and Grand Slam teams are anticipating a season full of development and accomplishment, League favourite, Winnipeg South Chiefs are also expecting a pinnacle season.

Morgan de Pena (current head coach of the University of Winnipeg baseball team and Chiefs baseball teams) has high hopes for her Chiefs teams this season. After a successful tournament in Dickinson, North Dakota with her college team over the April 22nd weekend, de Pena has diligent practice drills in mind for her Chiefs teams who are training day and night at the Charleswood Park baseball diamond this week.
Whether you’re rooting for the Bluejays, the Chiefs or one of the other seven teams in the MLJB – 2017’s junior baseball season will be filled with lifelong memories for athletes and families, alike.

“Hope to see you out on the pitch!”
